The new ‘real’-ity. We are living it, adjusting to it, perhaps frustrated by it, or saddened by it. This is our new norm but as I watch different content I can’t help but find it so inspiring how ‘real’ everyone has become. We are a resilient bunch. The definition of resilient is: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. I would say that fits.
It’s empowering to see how everyone copes in their own way and also embraces a new norm, which ends up showing their true, authentic selves more than ever before. It is so unbelievably refreshing.
Maybe the kids are crashing your video calls, maybe the dogs are barking in the background, maybe your internet decides to crash and your entire household is freaking out! It’s life right now and everyone is doing their part to get through it while we adopt new routines and ways of managing.
I love how it’s made us reach out to family and friends more, how connecting is so vital and unbelievably important. What I really appreciate though is the realness of it all. Roots showing, hair styles no longer existent, beards galore, naked nails, no make-up, no filter and everyone being kind about it. But really, somehow it’s that none of it is needed any longer, authentic is where it’s at.
Maybe we should give it a try and continue to keep it real, defining a new norm.
How are you keeping it real and being kind today?
